“How The Game OF Football Got Me Where I Am Today”
My personal essay uses “Ethos” to discuss how the time and effort for the game of football has got me where I am today. I will be discussing the journey it has sent me on, the achievements I was awarded, and dedication to the sport, and why I choose Pima Community College for school. Without the sport of football I most likely would not be here for college in Tucson, Arizona.
I started my football career in peewee at the age of 10 years old in the fourth grade. I started the sport because of my size, and continued my football career through high school. The beginning of fifth grade I realized I was pretty decent at the sport compared to the others on the team. Since sixth grade I have started every game all the way through senior year. My freshman year I started for our freshman team and also got the opportunity with two other freshmen to suit down and travel to every varsity game. During that time I played in four games. My sophomore year, I started on varsity and that’s when the exposer from colleges started.
Throughout football I have received an enormous amount of rewards from team camps, individual camps, and also state recognition. My very first individual award was at the University of Oregon individual football camp. Out of about three hundred players in my position I came home with the one and only “Most Outstanding Offensive Linemen”. I would say it was due to my size for coming up victorious. The next year I went to the camp as a sophomore and received the award again. After receiving the awards I started to get exposer from them , nothing serious but letters and advertising of the school. My junior year through senior year came, and I physically didn’t change at all.
After seeing no change in weight or height to my body I noticed schools slowed down on talking to me. The way that schools dropped me made me want to work harder as I use this for motivation. The weight room finally became my...
