Should Teachers Have a Dress Code?
At McLean High School, the dress code is in forced for the students, but not for teachers. Some teachers who don’t have respect for the students wear inappropriate clothes. Teachers should follow a dress code, because it could potential help the students to focus in class. Besides it also makes them look more professional.
Many teachers observe the students clothes’ to ensure they follow the dress code. Nevertheless, they don’t realize that the students are not the only ones whose clothes are inappropriate. They themselves sometimes wear unacceptable clothes like tight skirts and shirts. Once an adult sees a girl wear a mini skirt she makes her change immediately. However, the same standards should apply to teachers. It is not fair for teachers to have the right to criticize students’ clothes, but the students to critic on the teacher too.
Teachers do not realize it is disturbing to have a teacher with unsuitable clothes teaching in front of the class. For some students it’s really not a problem, but for others it is a huge problem. Some students don’t like it because of their religion, which we should all respect. For others it is that they just can not focused in class. Besides, if we let this happen it will create an amount of students who could fail their class, because of the teacher inappropriate way to dress.
If teachers had a dress code they would dress more properly and they would look more mature. A teacher should not show any part of the body to students. Also the student would feel more controllable in the class, and the teacher would have a god reference of plenty students. By that the teacher would work for several school years working in the same school.
In conclusion, if teachers consider our future, they will do the best to show us the right thing to do and the wear appropriate attire youngsters imitate and emulate. Therefore, teachers should have dress.
