There are many ways geography affects culture. Many people migrated across the Bering Straight land bridge during the pre-Columbian period. They came from Asia and entered the Americas following the Ice Age mammals. People had to learn to survive in their new environment. Unique cultures developed because the nomads learned to adapt to their environments. The Native Americans learned to use every part of their environment to sustain life for example creating new methods of farming and hunting. As you can see, the environment around the Native Americans affected their lives. For example migrating. The Native Americans migrated from Asia to the Americas. This happened when the 4th ice age occurred. During this ice age sea levels drops because of glaciers and the Beringia land bridge was exposed. People were able to migrate into the Americas and they created many new cultures. People discovered agriculture and is now known as the Neolithic Revolution. Do to different geographical areas they settled in, there were different animals and natural resources, which caused different cultures. Some of the cultures were the Comanche and Iroquis. The Comanche and Iroquois also adapted to their environment because of geography.
