Form a group of 3-5 students to work on a project of your choice related to topics and themes of the course.. It is all right to include students from other sections, just make sure everyone in the group is able to show up on the day of the presentation.

Presentation schedule will be published on Canvas in the beginning of November.
The following are SUGGESTED project ideas:
• Using some examples, demonstrate how are firms reaping benefits by harnessing the collective intelligence of the user/customers over the internet? The use of social network for collaboration. It will be great if you can find some local firms doing this.
• Choose to think about the opportunities and challenges that social computing/web 2.0 represents for an organization or company that is of interest to you.
• How would you evaluate the Web 2.0 elements of LMES? Any suggestions to further improve the system to meet the needs of today's students? How does it compare to other learning management system?
• Discuss other industries to which the ideas of open source can be export.
• Case study of a particular group/individual in HKUST who using web 2.0 technologies. (e.g. organize study trip, to keep in touch or collectively fight for student rights).
• Create a mashup application. List the lessons learned,
• Analyze the Web2.0 attributes of web sites such as Urban dictionary, Kickstarter, Reddit etc.
• Case study of users producing/collaborating something together or online activism. What are the lessons learned.
• The present and future of Wikipedia
