Global Business Culture Analysis: Qatar
Abstract
Qatar is a small peninsula situated on the eastern border of Saudi Arabia and yet it is one of the wealthiest countries in the world. As the third largest exporter of natural gas in the world as well as the highest GDP (per citizen) in the world, Qatar is a very young and promising country with regards to international business. The purpose of this paper is to educate foreign investors, entrepreneurs and business students on the country of Qatar as a business prospect and trade partner. The paper also provides the history of the country, several cultural dimensions explained and implications for U.S. businesses. The research conducted on Qatar was limited due to the country’s young age but includes academic journal articles, state sponsored sources and international financial publications. The results from the research examined identify strong indicators that foreign investors to include the U.S. would do well in investing in the country of Qatar especially in the beginning stages of the country’s independence and success.
