ACTS 12:1-19

INTRO.
There has been a battle raging since the before the beginning of man between GOOD vs. evil. Lucifer, Satan, Devil, deceiver, etc. has tried to be like GOD. God kicked Lucifer and 1/3 of his followers out of heaven because of this pride that Lucifer had.
The battle moved from the power of Satan taking on GOD to Satan using man to try to destroy the greatness and power of GOD.
Solomon said, Proverbs 21:30 “There is no wisdom and no understanding and no counsel against the LORD.” In other words, there is nothing that can diminish or weaken the power of Jehovah GOD, the Creator, the Messiah, and the Everlasting ONE!!!
Yes, there have always been men that have tried to fight against the powers of GOD. Earnest Hemingway, Noble Prize winning author, tried to lessen God in his writings and lifestyle, but he took his own life because of his futile efforts. Men today try to stamp out the power of GOD through their arrogance, but GOD will have final word.
In Biblical times, many political leaders have tried to stamp out the cause of Christ. It begins in the OT with Pharaoh who ruled Egypt at the time of the Exodus. GOD showed his power over the arrogance of Pharaoh in many ways, but one was by destroying the army of Pharaoh in the Red Sea drowning. Political leaders like Balak, Ahab, King of Ai, and many others have tried to stop the power of GOD. It didn’t work then and we need to realize that IT WILL NOT WORK TODAY.
