Sometimes everyone dreams about leaving everyday routine to forget, even for a moment, about stressful life. Watching “Great Expectations”, an adaptation of Charles Dickens’s novel of the same name, can provide us with a feeling of escapism to another, better word. The film, which is directed by a great Mexican celebrity- Alfonso Cuarón, supplies us with an all-star cast. The main character, a gifted painter Finny, is played by Ethan Hawke, a figure of Estella a beautiful and dangerous women, Finn’s love, plays Gwyneth Paltrow.
“Great Expectations” as the title says, is a film about ambitions and dreams. A young, talented man from a small village in Florida wants to achieve successes as a painter, but this is not his only dream. What he wants the most is to steal the heart of adorable Estella, his love from childhood.

The film is set in two places, firstly in the picturesque Gulf Coast of Florida where Finny was brought up by his uncle Joe and met Estella, and then when he became young successful artist an action moves to New York where exhibition of his works is presented. This story shows how a life of a young man can change in a blink of an eye. He starts a new life and, what is the most important, after many years he meets love...
