Hacking Project Part 1: Current Security Threats
With so many threats in the world today, it is nearly impossible to settle on only a few of the threats that we should be focusing on. I believe that we need to make a point to address every threat category that exists, including those that are not widely utilized at this time. By addressing every threat, in time we will establish the most secure system known to man. Yes, this is an aggressive stance to take but I see no other way to ensure that our student’s data and our school’s data alike are kept from those wishing to do harm. To begin this journey, I did narrow our first step down to three threats that should be our first focus. The first step of our actions should focus first on Nation States, Man in the Browser (MitB), and File Security.
One would think that just being a college would keep us from the vision of enemy states in the world and for the most part I believe that is correct. However, at Aim Higher College, we tend to turn out only the best in the industries of Health and Information Security. With so many graduates in high level positions and many of our current students striving to emulate the success of their upper classmates, I believe we have place the proverbial target on our back. We have an immense amount of private data of our former and current students that one break in our security to that information could open them up to attacks on many levels that both our students could not bear, nor our nation. Imagine our health infrastructure being torn wide open to such a level that even the most basic care for the citizens of this country would be almost impossible, from supply lines of life saving drugs and blood to access to medical history that would make life threatening allergies known to the doctors and nurses.
