Head girl speech.
Head girl? Why do I want to be a head girl? Because it has something to do with leading? True leadership is a quality many aspire to, and few truly obtain, because in order to become a leader you must first learn
to follow. Follow with an open mind, with focus, and with purpose. Being an effective leader means choosing the right course
of action, all the while remembering those who will be affected by your decisions.
A true leader has the confidence to
stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. This type of person
does not set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the quality of their actions and the integrity of their intent.
These are the qualities of a leader, and I think that I have these qualities, of a leader. I will make sure everybody in the school will be satisfied and I’ll make sure everybody will have the confidence to come to me and talk to me about any problems in the school, so that it can be sorted out. I cannot to everything, but I can do something, and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do what I can.
I will try my hardest to change the amount of homework you get into lower. Because I think 6 hours of school is enough! I will help to beat bullying! Bullying will not be tolerated in this school! I will make sure there is enough space in the canteen for everyone (because I know it’s a problem!). Also I will try to persuade the teachers for more non school uniform day! And maybe we can do something about the school canteen itself, like McDonalds in there and KFC and SUBWAY!
Everybody has a voice in this school. But not everyone is heard, I’ll change that. I will make your voice count, so that together, we can make this school better than it is!
