Help Meet Gen 2:18 & 20
It is common talk that a wife or woman who intends to be a wife is a help meet. The question here is have we really considered deeply what “help meet” really means?
It is true and correct that the bible says a woman must submit to her husband (Eph 5:22 Col 3:18) and meet the help he”needs”. At this point it is pertinent to ask another question – If you need help in doing something would you ask for help from someone whom you know is worse than you in the particular task or area you need help in? A wise person who wants to do a good job will always rather ask and gladly receive help from persons who can truly help them, than from someone who will make the situation worse or remain the same.
As a woman, it is important to understand that being a help meet to a man/husband means you must be very good or even better than him in those areas he might need your help. Again a question – How would you know what or which particular area you will need to help him so that you can be best in that area? Knowing before your help is required or needed is difficult and almost impossible. So what’s the way forward? What you have to do is Build yourself up in every area in life (in all ramifications). Do not give room for/to mediocrity and be your exceptional best.

For instance, a woman/wife can say -” the husband is the head of the home, he should teach me the word and it is his job to know how to do this and do that”. What stops you from knowing the word (by letting God teach you) or building up yourself and make his job easier for him?
