The Plan for a Dream Vacation
The target group that will be taking their dream vacation are single professional adults between the ages of 35 to 44 with an annual average income ranging from $40,000 to $60,000 US. Travel is important to this group who enjoys the energy of being outdoors, excitement, and experiencing adventure and new things without worrying about sticking to a schedule. Ecotourism and gaining knowledge of the culture and history of their destination is also important to them. Adrenaline and being outdoors is the way this group relaxes and gets rid of stress. This group is considered Venturers as they take longer trips, travel in a small group, are willing to accept the accommodations that fit the environment, and are active explorers at their destinations (Biederman, 2008).
The extended dream vacation destination for this group of travelers is a safari trip to Africa. To be specific traveling in Rwanda tracking mountain gorillas, Zambia’s Kafue National Park for a wilderness Safari and Tanzania to experience Seacology; which is a nonprofit organization that works around the world to preserve the environments and cultures of undeveloped islands (Seacology, 2014). This is the perfect dream vacation for our target group as they will experience the adventure and awe of witnessing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, snorkeling and hiking, and the adrenaline rush of seeing African wildlife and capturing these wild animals in photos. There are multiple things to do and see, a little something for everyone. Majestic and unique geographical scenery that can only be found in Africa will unfold before their eyes. Plus Africa was ranked by the World Economic Forum’s Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report in 2013 as being cited one of the friendliest countries welcoming tourists (Ranked: African Countries That are the Most Welcoming to Tourists, 2013).
