America was founded and grown on people of other countries. Immigrants created this flourishing nation and every citizen in America has immigrant ancestry. The thriving country would not be what is today if it was not for the immigrants that came into the country looking for work and an opportunity. The immigration into America from Mexico is a gruesome and dreadful struggle. But with poverty in Mexico, the struggle to provide for families causes people to migrate. The immigration policy should not prohibit Mexicans from entering the Americas, but rather have the opportunity for them to make a living and benefit the United States as well.
The primary reason why people make the risky illegal cross over is for an opportunity at a better life. The poverty in Mexico is too great to survive. The Americans give jobs to the immigrants for less than minimum wage. The common misbelief for Mexicans wanting to cross into America is that is extremely difficult to make a living. The pay is absurdly low and the rent is high. An immigration policy that makes the pay higher would substantially help the immigrants live. If we did not completely restrict immigrants from coming to America, the journey would be a lot safer and easier. They would benefit for an actual opportunity to have a better life and make a living. Immigrants can offer their skills in many different areas of work and can contribute to different jobs, not just labor. They would be able to support their families and not have to worry about having a roof over their heads. This policy will benefit the American citizen as well as the immigrants.
If the amount of illegal immigrants was lowered and the process to become legal was easier, America would be greatly benefitted.
