IFL 1 - Character
According to Merriam-Webster, character is “a set of qualities that are shared by many people in a group, country, etc.” (Merriam-Webster, 2015). Also, according to the United States Army, character is a person’s moral and ethical qualities, which guides them to do what is right and appropriate, no matter the situation or consequences.
The ultimate goal when you are trying to market your product is to draw your customer in and develop a bond of trust. Reputation is created by the quality of products and/or service one presents. If you have poor quality, then it will be very hard to sell your product or service. However, if your reputation consists of honesty and trustworthiness, then your chances of your customer purchasing your product and/or service is increased.
An organization consists of individuals and if those individuals have poor character, it can affect the organization’s performance and determine how long it will stay in business. That is why it is critical for an organization to hire the right people. One’s with great character and work ethic. The bible says “A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, Loving favor rather than silver and gold. The rich and the poor have this in common, The LORD is the maker of them all. A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself, But the simple pass on and are punished. By humility and the fear of the LORD Are riches and honor and life”
Marketing management consists of determining which target markets to get and keep (Kottler, Keller 2012). How does this correlate with Christianity?
