Recommendation for Expatriate to China
As chair of the selection committee and VP of Human Resources, I have carefully reviewed the three remaining employees for the three-year expatriate assignment. I have found that all of the employees wanting this assignment have excellent reviews and a strong will to succeed in this company. However, there can only be one candidate for the position and this is the recommendation that I have for this assignment.
Problem Statement
The selection committee has reviewed twelve candidates for the expatriate assignment lasting three-year in China, so that the new branch for our industrial product can be staffed. The committee has narrowed it down to only three remaining candidates and as the chair of the committee and VP of Human Resources I have reviewed all of the remaining candidates qualifications and their weaknesses to find the right person for the position.
Analysis of Relevant Information
All three candidates have great reviews and are excellent employees who express the desire to succeed. Tom is a mid-level finance manager with great performance reviews, has an MBA, and has experience with foreign relations (Ball, 2013). Firdaus is one of the deputy VP’s of Human resources at our corporate office. She is bilingual and can speak, read, and write in Arabic, both classical and Yemen (2013). She has technical knowledge, as she has a Ph.D. in engineering. She is married, however, her husband is willing to take a leave of absence for these three years so that he will be able to accompany her during this time.
