Internet: Bridging Intercultural Communication

The impact of the internet and globalization on popular culture and interpersonal communication ranges in many different aspects. It has made some major changes in many different cultures. The internet makes so many things easier to do, from watching TV to sending emails. There isn’t any need to sit at home and watch a TV anymore if you have a computer with internet. Researching has also become easier thanks to the internet, with just a few simple clicks on the keyboard you are on your way to finding almost anything the world wide web has to offer. Even libraries are going to the use of the internet, or at least computerizing all the reference points.

The internet has also impacted shopping in a very big way, just think of it, it is cold, four foot of snow on the ground and you need something from the store, some stores have sites now that you can order, and pay for what you need and they will deliver it to you. Other sites like clothing sites are using the same method as a paper catalog would do, you order what you need and they ship it to you. You also can track your order online with a special tracking number.

The way the internet has impacted interpersonal communications is by allowing us to talk to people in different ways. There is now instant messaging, voice over the web talking (VOIP), and emails. People are starting too use the internet to find a mate by using on of the many sites available such as EHarmony, MySpace, FaceBook, these are getting better and better as the world of the internet gets bigger and bigger.
