What kind of court are you in? Provincial.
What kind of case are you watching? Criminal
How did you react to the court scene? Just as it should be.
Explain: I, just as ever other member in the court, was surprised of how efficient and well everyone in the involved in the court acted. The lawyers involved in the case were extremely intelligent and professional. Even the accused handled the ‘court-room drama’ very well; he responded with ‘yes ma’am’ and ‘yes sir when being spoken too.

Comment briefly on your assessment:
Throughout the entire time at the court, I was assessing each member of the court. The jury was excellent and well behaved. The judge was well mannered and performed her job excellently. Even we, the students, (after leaving the court for break) got a complement from the judge herself for being well behaved.
How do you rate the proceedings (what you see and hear happening)? Yes, they were easy to understand. Explain: A lot of the larger vocabulary being thrown around in court was talked about during either the grade 11 law or grade 12 law courses, making them easy to interpret. Following the actions of the courtroom was quite obvious (such as standing for the judge and when the jury leaves the room). In terms of understand what was happening, that was quite easy too. The scenario of the crime scene was broken down by both the defense and the prosecution. Some pieces of evidence were used to break down the scenario as well.
