Detail one: At the start of this novel it is Bilbo’s 111th birthday and everyone is excited about the huge party that he is going to throw. On the night of the party after much celebration entertainment and eating Bilbo addresses the people at his party that he is leaving the shire, and then he simply vanishes using the ring, he later appears at his house before he leaves the shire.
Response to detail one: I thought what Bilbo did was quite foolish because of the fact that this made people offended by his rude act of leaving in the middle of his party with no explanation with only a good bye. This resulted in his family and friends being treated with suspicion because they were linked to a man who could vanish from sight at any time. I think Bilbo should have waited for the party to end before leaving the shire. This would have meant less of a ruckus and they would have left his family be. I do not think Bilbo thought of the consequences before he left the shire and should have thought them through.
Detail two (from the end of the novel): Frodo decided to chose the path that lead through the Mines of Moiré to get to their location... once inside they are faced with many more foes than they anticipated.
Response to detail two: I thought Frodo was silly. I think he needed to plan where he was going to go instead of deciding on the spot this way he might not have got Gandalf lost and not so many people would have been wounded. I feel that Frodo just rushed in because gimle (a companion) wanted to see his ancestor’s city, and because of this people got hurt. Frodo needs to make his own choices if the fellow sip will survive.
