My group is debating on how gay marriage should be legal. We believe that if an individual loves other individual regardless if they are the same sex, then they have every right to get married. If society cannot allow gay marriage to become legal then it would be denying them from their rights. Every one has the right to marry anyone they want. Now that doesn't mean that if a brother and a sister love each then they should also be allowed to marry. Or if an individual has an emotional connection with an animal and they also decide to marry that animal. That should not be allowed! Just because gays should be allowed to get married doesn't mean that all these other non-sense should happen. I feel like gays are viewed as freaks so many people assume that if gays are granted the right to marry then other people are going to marry animals or family members. But that's not the case. We want gay marriage to be legal so that same sex individuals can get married not those other crazy people.
Although in the Bible it may say, that Gays are a sin.. well it also states that stealing and murdering is also sin. And I'm sure there are many individuals who have stole or murder someone. So why can't we have and accept gay people to get married. We forgive those who steal, God even forgive them for their sin. So why is this any different? I don't think its fair to bring religion into this because not everyone believes in a God. And i don't think this is an issue for the church to handle. This is an issue for the government, but they are also taking advantage of their power by denying people their right, such as gay marriage. They say we will live in a free world and a democracy so why don't we have the choice to marry the person we love??
