Impact the internet and globalization has on popular culture and interpersonal communication.
The internet and globalization has had a tremendous impact on popular culture and interpersonal communication over the past decades. It has made major changes in different cultures.
The internet has been maybe one of the biggest impacts made on popular culture to make it so popular. It makes it easier to do a lot of things, with its easy access, from watching T.V to communicating. There is no need to try and sit home to watch your favorite T.V shows anymore. At the touch of a few keys, it is possible to watch them anytime right on the computer screen. Things like research have also become more simple, thanks to the internet. The reference center is no longer ever needed at the library. Some people prefer the old fashion method still though. One thing the internet has impacted that a lot of people may take advantage of, is shopping. This may have been the next best invention next to cars! No more standing in long lines in stores, which makes shopping for birthdays and holidays much easier for some people.
The internet has impacted interpersonal communication by giving different ways to communicate. Verbal communication was maybe the most common used communication in the beginning of time. Now there is much more advanced technology. There are so many different ways of communicating these days, with the internet being probably at the top of the list. This is made easy because there are at least half a dozen sites to communicate thru on the internet. People use the internet as their main source of communication to meet and greet other people on different sites such as E-Harmony, Black Planet, or My-Space.com. This form of interpersonal communication has worked for a lot of people and will probably only get better as time prevails!
