Geography coursework method
The main point of this coursework was to investigate how the market affects Hitchin by comparing a market day and a non market day. The two days in which we went were Monday 22ndJune(non market) and Tuesday 23rdJune(market day).we went on two days so that we can see what effects the market has on the town of Hitchin. we were split into groups so we can cover more area of the town , each group had an area or road in which they did they’re investigations. The group in which I was in was based on the road sun street. Which is circled below.

For our first method(pedestrian count) our group which consisted of me , antonia , chanique, channel decided to split into two.so me and antonia did the pedestrian count while channel and chanique did the potential customer count. For our pedestrian count we did this so we can find out if theres more people in the town on a market day than a non market day. And for potential customer count we did this to find out if a market day has a positive effect on the shops which means that more people will be going to the local shops on a market day.we split our selves into pairs so that we can work faster and get the work done alot easier. We were meant to start counting at 11am-11:10am and in the afternoon from 2pm-2:20pm but due to a mix ups and having to change groups our group started just a few minutes behind schedule but we did manage to do all our counts.another thing we did was questionnare which we had 2 do two each on a market day and a non market day this would be useful to find out the main reasons in which most people have come tot hitchin.is it for the shopping? or do they just come for work?. Some of the problems were that when doing questionnares some people might think its a joke and give false answers.
