Friend or Foe
    Food can be your friend, but it can also be your enemy. People tend to eat when they are depressed or stressed out. Every time I ate it was mostly due to depression and stress. However, food can also be dangerous. If you eat unhealthy food, it can give you high blood pressure, diabetes, and others. In my opinion, bringing happiness to your life is being healthy. Who’d want to be unhealthy for eternity?
    I remember when my parents were going through the divorce I wanted to live with my father. It was a very difficult obstacle to go through in my life. That is when I started eating a lot without thinking about my health. People around me said,” you were young and you didn’t know anything.” Yes, I was young, but it didn’t mean that I didn’t know anything. I saw myself gaining weight but I didn’t really take it too serious.
    During this obstacle, I have always thought that the only way to cope with your stress was to eat.  I’ve basically gained a lot of weight these past few years. Nevertheless, I am on a diet because of the shocking news I heard from my doctor. He told me I’m almost at the line of getting high blood pressure, or diabetes. I was shocked and frightened of what might become of me. So I started exercising and eating healthy. I started eating more vegetables and fruits than I used to and exercise every morning. After every exercise I could feel my body getting stronger. Even though I am still overweight my body is still changing every day, every minute, and every second.  You mostly gain weight by not eating healthy or eating too much than you usually do. Even if you are not obese, you still have a risk of getting high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, and so on. After about a two months or so when I started my diet and I couldn’t eat anything with high cholesterol. I ate Chinese food one day and it made me extremely nauseous. But eating an apple afterwards made me feel better.
