“Our financial crisis has hit rock bottom” said Stan in a quiet depressing way, “what? Oh no what will we do?” replied Mary, Stan’s wife in a shocked but knowing full way. Stan is a train driver for U.S cargo; he lives in the outskirts of Colorado.
Stan’s bucked teeth, scary face and small grey goatee makes him the perfect train driver, however people judge him as the stereotypical person he appears to be, if you were to know Stan on a personal basis he is a gentle kind hearted man who would never hurt a soul. Stan arrived home one cold windy night, he looked sad and depressed, the creaking of the hinges on the rusted door made it even worse. As Stan walked along the croaking floorboards in the hallway all he could think about is how to break the news, “dinners ready darling said Mary as she set dinner on the table.” That was when he broke the news, they were broke and heavily in debt, “soon the sheriff will take our own house from us” thought Mary.
After the hours drive Stan arrived at work, Stan was assigned to do the New York coal run. “Great, ill take that exclaimed Stan. He was exited as the long runs gave him a small bonus, big enough for him. So off Stan went to New York, Stan loved the interstate trips is it gave him time to relax and contemplate on life even when it’s at a down turn.
After the thirteen hour trip Stan arrived at the New York Cargo station. “is this the coal from Colorado?” Said the Stations emissary “yes it is replied Stan.” Stan was given his room and slept there for the night.
Before dawn had arisen the next morning Stan was in his train driving home, he was worried about his beloved wife Mary, “I hope she’s alright” he thought. But he ride home was quick he managed to pull in at twelve noon.
