Microblogging: The Future of Business

Abstract

This paper explores three different aspects of Microblogging in businesses around the world. MySpace, Facebook and Twitter are all popular with businesses as forms of marketing.

Businesses all over the world are looking for inexpensive ways to promote their businesses and many are turning to the internet. The Small Business Labs blog states that “Despite the economic downturn, we expect the small business sector to increase its use of online marketing tools and methods in 2009. Online marketing is cheaper and often more effective than traditional approaches” (Geny Labs. (2008). Pg. 1). Businesses are starting to use sites such as MySpace, Facebook and Twitter to promote their businesses.
MySpace is used by many companies to promote their businesses especially bands. Since 2004, Hyperactive Music Magazine has used the social networking web site to connect with thousands, 15,862 to date (Tumolillo, M. (2006).
