To take molten aluminium onto the road the following items must be followed within ADR – International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road.

UN number: – 3257
Proper Name: – Elevated Temperature Liquid N.O.S. at or above 100°C and below its flashpoint (including molten metals, molten salts, etc).
Class: 9 – Covers substances and articles which, during carriage present a danger not covered by the headings of other classes.
Classification Code: – M9 – Elevated Substance Liquid
Packing Group: – III – Packing Group III = substances presenting low risk.
Labels: – 9 –









Special Provisions: – 274 – Generic or “not otherwise specific” (N.O.S.) names.
580 – Tank –vehicles, specialised vehicles and specially equipped vehicles for carriage in bulk shall bear on both sides and at the rear the mark referred to below:






Tank containers, portable tanks, special containers and specially equipped containers for carriage in bulk shall bear this mark on both sides and at each end.
643 – Stone or aggregate asphalt mixture is not subject to the requirements of Class 9.
