Short Story
"Monsters"

The light above switched on and off slowly, turning the hallway into complete darkness and then flashing it over and over. The sound of the computers and servers from the close rooms where heard by the ears of the squad member that was currently searching the dark hallways. Some of the doors were still in tact and some had been completely blown off their hinges, leading into more darkness. "Recon Squad Alpha, this is HQ." one radio spoke out into the halls. The squad member dropped his stance and held his gun in one hand, he tuned his radio in the other. There was some disturbance in the air as the radio was jammed and the message was broken up.
"Go ahead HQ." the man replied into his radio. "Tell us you have something." the voice spoke over the radio. "Negative. This place is deserted." "Mission still stands." The squad member let go of his radio and resumed his search through the dark hallway. The light continued to flicker above his head and the man shook his head and reached out towards his gun. Attached to the gun was a flashlight and as he flicked it on, something from ahead ran past the doorway. The man looked up, but saw nothing. He pointed his flashlight down the hallway and on the walls, but there was nothing in sight.
Quietly, he walked towards the door but before he got there a noise came from his radio. Crouching down, he dropped his gun again and held his radio. "Recon Squad, respond, respond!" "Get..out.." the radio spoke with a woman's voice. Before the squad member had a chance to respond, something moved in the door directly in front of him. With speed and agility, he aimed his light right at the door but nothing was there. His heart started to beat faster and faster, while the only light above flickered on and off.
He ran towards the door, and his back against the wall and leaned into the doorway, using his light to check...
