Mothman
Speaking of creepy things, does anyone think moths are creepy? Here are a couple of pictures of the mysterious mothman. The picture on the left shows what it seems to be a huge moth like creature. The one on the right is a drawing of what many people describe as the mothman. The mothman is guessed to be approximately 7 foot tall, with red eyes. A body of a human and wings of an insect. The shadowy creature was reportedly able to fly great distances at speeds up to 100 miles per hour. There were many sightings near the Silver Bridge in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. The first recorded sighting was on November 12, 1966. Five men were digging a grave in a local cemetery and claimed to see a “large bird with red eyes. Soon after, two couples drove through around the same area and said they saw a winged creature, “shaped like a man, but bigger,” with glowing red eyes. It walked on sturdy legs with a shuffling gait and, when it took flight and seemed to follow them, it “wasn’t even flapping its wings.” They said it “squeaked like a big mouse”. Soon the first newspaper report was published just 4 days after the first recorded sightings. The article was titled “Couples See Man Sized Bird, Creature….or something” A year had past and a tragic event happens at the Silver Bridge. It collapses and ends up killing 46 people and injuring 9 more. Coincidence? Maybe not? Many believe that the Mothman was sent to earth for a purpose, to scare the people of Point Pleasant and warn them that the heavily traveled bridge was going to soon give out. After the years had passed many paranormal authors say that they believe that the Mothman was an alien. In 2002, the first annual Mothman festival took place in Point Pleasant and they dethroned a big stainless steel statue of what the Mothman supposedly was seen to look like. It became so well known that many books were written and there was even a horror movie made called Mothman and it showed on the ScFy channel.
