Specialist English Stage 1 Movie Review He saw the world in a way no one could have imagined. A Beautiful Mind is a dramatic biography of Professor John Forbes Nash. The movie a Beautiful Mind was directed by Ron Howard and Sylvia Nasar being the producer. The movie was first released in Australia on the 7th March, 2002. The cast consisted of very brilliant talent from Russell Crowe who played a very convincing job of Mr John Nash, Jennifer Connolly as Alicia Nash, Ed Harris as William Parcher and Paul Bettany as Charles. The viewer enters the mind of John Nash as he starts his education at Princeton University. You become instantly aware of John’s behaviour around other people and just in general. His roommate (Charles) is a bit on the wild side and shows John a different side to life. John’s perception of reality is quite unique and very different to yours and mine. Throughout the whole movie John is on a journey of self discovery and personal growth. With Jennifer Connolly playing the role of Alicia Nash, John’s wife, the movie portrays Jennifer’s discovery of love and the strength of commitment shared between two people in good and bad times. Russell Crowe played an outstanding performing of Mr. John Forbes Nash with executing every little detail with precision. Jennifer, with the supporting role of Alicia Nash complimented Russell’s performance, with having on screen chemistry. Paul Bettany bought a much needed comedy relief to a very serious film. The special effects throughout the movie were very realistic giving the movie credibility. Bringing realism to the story line. A Beautiful Mind is the perfect movie for someone who is interested in the genre of biography/drama and is...
