The Remote Access Domain connects remote users to their businesses IT infrastructure to allow those that work outside of the companies buildings, branches, or from home as with traveling reps, sales reps, or those that the company deems that the cost of travel is higher than compensation as with those that live in cities. To have the ability to access any satellite for access to the Internet, our e-mail, and other business applications anywhere with either a Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) hotspot or by using a wireless modem. The Remote Access Domain is both a wonderful and dangerous to device to use as it allows for access any place we can access the web, but also allows others the greater opportunity to capture our information as it travels to or from these routers wirelessly, since it has a potential for exposing your computer systems to greater threats. Due to possibility of remote users accessing unknown WAN the need for managing the right security patches to provide secure access when using an untrusted WAN. The use of a secured WAN to access the internet all companies need to enforce data classification standard to identify users and encrypt data, since we have more of our work force accessing a business systems from home remotely to conserve travel costs, resources, company space or overhead, the need for greater health/ welfare compliance or policies, as well as cost of meals or use of break areas, and the ability to interact with people from all over country to gain greater incite to grow business. The need for remote access security controls to secure access to or from the company to users should include as a basis is access control of whom, how, and where users can or are restricted from companies systems.
