Points of view are relative in any situation that life brings us. One can have certain assumptions based on the understanding of events which can change the overall interpretation of an outcome. Social interaction has a positive or negative play in situations which form outcomes that may certainly mold ones thought process. Also gender is a major role in the persuasive interpretations of language. The period of time shows the understanding necessary needed to make better assumptions rather than to jump into conclusions when you don’t know anything. There are various factors that influence and may limit understanding of one self or a character. Personality traits, background, as well as experience and motivation can imprint fundamentals on how people direct how one perceives everything in life.
In the short story Miss Brill, she is a very unsocial individual. She does not want to mix in with the other people or associate with anyone around her. Miss Brill is one to sit on a bench by herself on Sunday morning at the park observing everyone and listening In on people’s conversations or lives’ stories. As stated in the book, “she had become quite an expert she thought, at listening as through she didn’t listen, at sitting in on other peoples lives just for a moment while they talked around her.”(Miss Brill page,135). Her appearance is displayed in the book as she loved to wear her fur coat every Sunday to the park. As stated, “Miss Brill was glad that she had decided on her fur coat”. (Miss Brill page 134). She is an elegant dressed elder woman. The timeline was roughly in the 1920’s. she had wore her one of a kind unique hat that made it seem as she was and elder elite woman, and not just a commoner as everyone else. She wanted to stand out so everyone could have noticed her. She sits in a park all day long listening in on other people conversations. She has her own understanding of what life should be instead of what it actually is. She wants to bring attention...
