QAtar is a sovereign Arab state occupying a a small peninsula that borders Saudi Arabia on the south. The capital of Qatar is Doha. Qatar is my favorite country mainly because of the fact that it is a very hardworking country. It was a barren land but it rose suddenly and is now the richest country in the world in terms of GDP- per capita. This means that an average person in Qatar can earn approximately $102,800 per year, beating Liechtenstein and Luxemburg in this race, as of 2012.This is mainly due to the discovery of oil in the 1940’s. Besides this Qatar has been rated as the 19th most peaceful country in the world and has achieved the highest human development in the Arab world and the 36th highest overall. It has tried to bridge the gap between the Muslim and non Muslim states very peacefully.

ANS: Qatar is an absolute monarchy. It has been ruled as a kingship by the Al Thani family since the mid 19th century. It guarantees freedom of expression, assembly, and religion and calls for a 45-seat parliament. Thirty of the seats will be filled in democratic elections; the emir will appoint the remaining seats. Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifah Al Thani resigned as prime minister in April 2007. The emir named former foreign minister Sheik Hamad Jassem Al Thami.
