Good nutrition is vital to good health and it is important that healthy eating habits are developed early in life and evolve as part of a healthy lifestyle. Eating innutritious food is mainly related to deficiency and its important to make the right choices today as it is easier to make inappropriate choices as fast foods are convenient and within the budget of most people. This trend is particularly evident with adolescents like me who have a part time job and a regular income. I’m even more tempted to eat fast foods as I work at McDonald’s and as a staff member I receive a half price discount which makes in even more tempting. I make sure that I keep the temptation under control as poor food choices such as these cause diseases such as obesity, cardiovascular disease, hypertension and diabetes. Personal and social development will occur through the provision of information, education for health and the enhancement for life skills, examples of life skills are communication, problem solving, planning, decision making, conflict resolution and goal setting. These skills enhance out health my making us feel more responsible and self confident. We will then have a greater capacity to respond to changes and adjustments that occur in our lives.
