Definition Paper
This paper explains definition of innovation, design, and creativity, shows how they have influenced the development of humanity; also shown how interacting with organizational objectives, and describe the importance in strategic planning and other process in corporations. This paper shows the differences between innovation, design, and creativity; and analyzes similarities.
Bettina von Stamm (2008) define indicated that innovation “means different things to different people” (p. 1) noting the relativity of the word, either to management or life “as many other things” (p. 1), which have different meanings depending on its use. In business that is that concern in this paper, innovation is definite defined as the process to create new ideas, products, services or workflows to increase productivity (Rouse, 2014).
Innovation is also defined also as the process to change or improve things. ; Kevin Werchab (2013) conducted a study with different executives from different economic sectors determining that education is necessary to develop innovation in individuals.
MoreoverOn the other hand, design is defined as the decision-making process to make an idea, a positive result, whether tangible or intangible (von Stamm, 2008). Like, as innovation, design means different things depending on their use but John Pavlus (2013) developed a investigations during which he concluded to find a scientific definition of design establishing that design is “a specification of an object, manifested by some agent, intended to accomplish goals” (para. 4).
Creativity, on the other hand, is analyzed within the context of critical thinking which is intrinsically linked. Bettina von Stamm (2008) define postulated that “the total creative process is a balance of imagination and analysis” (p. 14), which is establishing criteria about the importance of thinking.
