Methodology
This section of the research paper provides the explanation for the application of particular techniques or approaches used to analyse and compile information obtained to comprehending the research problem. This allows the readers or other researchers to evaluate the reliability and validity of the study. The research methods that could be used are categorized into qualitative methods and quantitative methods. Moreover, the specific methods of information collection consist of interviews, observation, questionnaires, documentary analysis and surveys.
In this research, the question that was focused on was whether phobias was either heredity or acquired, or the combination of both. According to the topic, an educated prediction on the results was made by the researcher. The hypothesis of this chosen topic that will be verified by the end of this research is that phobias could be caused by the environmental factors as well as the biological factors. Based on these statements, the research method that will be used for this topic are qualitative methods instead of quantitative methods as it provides a clearer connection with the research problem. In other words, larger amounts of information could be obtained by using qualitative methods which enable the researcher to consider different aspects of possibility.
Accordance to the topic, the specific research method that will be used in this study is documentary analysis. Documentary analysis is a social research tool which involves compiling and analysing information from existing records and documents such as previous academic journals and research papers. The data used are the tangible materials in which ideas or facts have been obtained and proven by other researchers.
