The top ten countries with the highest population, according to the 2005 World Population Data Sheet are China, India, United States, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan, Bangledesh, Russia, Nigeria and Japan. This report will highlight the average population growth rates and the potential return of the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) of most of the top ten countries.

Population Size and Average Growth Rates
With one million three hundred four thousand people, China ranked the top country with the highest population. China’s population maybe on up but their average population growth rate is low at one point six. This is mainly because China has at below two-child average which means that the country’s population will decrease over time. India is the second country with the highest population of one million one hundred four thousand with an average population growth rate at three point zero. The United States came in as the third highest country with a population of two hundred ninety-six thousand and with an average population growth rate two point zero. Indonesia’s population is ranked at number four with two hundred twenty-two thousand with an average population growth rate of two point six. Brazil ranked the fifth country with the highest population of one hundred eighty-four thousand and the average population growth of two point four, followed by Pakistan that has the sixth highest population of one hundred sixty-two thousand and an average population growth of four point eight. Bangledesh’s population of one hundred forty-four thousand has a resumption of a population decline with a current average population growth rate of three point zero. Russia ranked eighth with a population one hundred forty-three thousand people. Russia’s projected population for year two thousand fifty will decline to a negative twenty three percent.
