Positive and negative effects of Medias on children/adolescent.
Media is a vast form of communication that flows into and spread out through nearly every aspect of modern culture. Today, people use Medias like TV, radio, cell phone, video game, magazine, newspaper, and internet to meet various aspects of human lives, and they have become important part of our lives, too. People use media for communicating and interacting among friends and relatives, for expressing and sharing views, opinions, and ideas, for entertaining and collecting useful information, and for advertising and marketing. Because teens have misinterpreted Media’s content, Medias have become main cause of different negative health issues like eating disorder, obesity, malnutrition, and mental depression, child’s academic issues like attention span, communication skills, writing skills, and critical thinking ability, social and behavioral issues like violence, sex abuse, drugs uses, aggressive nature, and so forth. However, there are many positive consequences resulted from the cause of different type of Medias. Thus, the use of Medias like TV, radio, movie, video game, magazine, newspaper, and the internet have both negative and positive effects on children or adolescent.
The excessive media use leads to different health issues on children and teenagers. Today’s children consume multiple types of media and spend more time in front of computer, TV, and game screens than any other activities. Television viewing frequently limits children’s time for vital activities such as playing, reading, learning to talk, and spending time with peers and family. As a result, children do not get chance to socialize with others, and they do not develop the social skills that they will need later in life.
