Symptoms
Following injury incurred 18 months prior, Jackie is:
Feeling depressed and tired on most days
Has become sedentary
Not partaking in previously enjoyed physical activity (tennis)
Experiencing weight gain which has her feeling:
Out of shape
Reluctant to reengage in the sport
No longer involved in previously enjoyed sport, resulting in:
Lost contact with friends (tennis club)
Feelings of isolation
Experiencing a loss of job enjoyment (now in a desk position rather than register)
Rarely able to fully engage with children or their activities, due to limited energy
Recommendations for Jackie:

Jackie experienced an ankle injury 18 months ago which resulted in many lifestyle changes, as a result of these changes Jackie is experiencing a depressive mood. Upon further analysis of the symptoms submitted by the patient it is evident that the patient is no longer leading a “full life” resulting in a sense of emptiness, which has triggered the many symptoms she has stated to have been experiencing.
In Jackie's case it appears using positive psychotherapy will be successful in helping her overcome her depressive mood and the downward spiral she has been tangled in since her ankle injury. Positive psychology will help Jackie embrace her strengths once again. She has succumbed to a negative form of thinking since her injury and with little coaching she can be redirected to happiness and well-being.
