The term race and ethnicity mean to me is, Race is where a person comes from biologically. An example would be such as their skin color or facial features. Ethnicity is a person’s cultural heritage which includes shared traditions, heritage, language and shared religion. Sometimes more often than not this can mean geographical region a person is from or a person’s nationality. If any person has the right to complain about race and ethnicity it would be the Indians, after all this was their land to begin with, before the white man took it away and made them live on reservations In my opinion no one has the right to dictate where a person lives due to race or ethnicity Such as the Americans fighting the Mexicans to go back to Mexico. We all descend from somewhere other than the United States so If anyone has to return to the homeland then we all should have to return to where our ancestors came from and give the land back to the rightful owners the Indians. This is only my opinion on race and ethnicity. Why are these concepts important to United States society? All races came from elsewhere in the world the only true American is the Indians. Without the different races and cultures that are in the United States the American culture would not be what it is today. The United States society would be an uneducated society to the different countries that surround us. In the United States of America we have the freedom of choice. The different races and ethnicities are what hold America together the same as glue holds broken items together. I do believe before it is all said and done all people in the United States will be of one race and ethnicity.
