Reflection

In my experience at the Jewel Heart, I really enjoyed my time meditating and learning different mindfulness practices. The first day I went to this meditation session we did a mindfulness walk just like we did in class. The instructor of the session told us when we start walking to not think about anything, but to just listen to what hear and see what we see and if anything comes up in your head to just to let it go and not think about it. While I was walking I just couldn’t stop thinking about different things and how stressed I was at the time from school and football and once I stopped thinking about those different things I felt more relieved and more relaxed because just listening to the birds chirping, feeling the wind blow, seeing the clear blue sky, and just enjoying the beautiful weather, it really made me feel calm. At the end of the session the instructor talked to us about how are breathing should be while we walk around during the mindfulness walk and how we how breathing should be slow, calm, and how we should have control over our breathing.
I really enjoyed this meditation session because it taught me some things about how to clear my head and not to always think about things and stress myself out. Meditation is very helpful and I can see myself becoming more active with meditating because it will help me with stress, also help me with my breathing, and I believe it will make me healthier. I will be recommending my friends and family to be more active meditating.
