Research Project: Health Care Organization Investigations
The health organization that the author works for called Kingwood Medical Center is a non-profit company. Kingwood Medical Center operates a network of hospitals and related health facilities in the North Houston region of the United States. The hospital is a full-service facility with 278 beds and Serving North Harris, East Montgomery and Liberty Counties for more than 20 years. The hospital offers comprehensive acute care services, 24 hours emergency services, a progressive rehabilitation program, surgical services, and maternity care. This research paper will analyze the type of insurances which are accepted by this hospital, and which are not accepted and the reasons why. Also, this paper will analyze the percentage of uncompensated care for the organization, financial stability; the status of financial changes after the enactment of the Affordable Healthcare Act of 2010.
What types of health care insurances are accepted/not accepted in your organization and why?
The Kingwood Medical Center accepts most major insurance brands. They can be grouped into HMOs (Health Maintenance Organizations) and PPO (Preferred Provider Organization), Medicare (thru Federal government) and Medicaid (thru CHIP program offered by the state), and miscellaneous insurances.
