Abstract:
During the process of selecting and constructing a textbook for a certain grade or level ,certain characteristics and elements should be but in consideration to achieve the ultimate benefit of this text book .this study aims at investigating the strength and the shortcomings of the English 4th grade text book from the "Israeli" curriculum from the English teachers perspective.
To achieve this purpose ,a questionnaire of 20 items were given to 20 teachers of 8 elementary schools in 'Israel" to have their opinions towards the design ,content ,language, skills ,and activities of this text book.


















INTRODUCTION
The aim of modern educational system is to improve the educational process all the time and to help teachers to operate effectively in educational process.
Curriculum designers take into consideration the changing in technology, cognitive approaches, societal needs, student needs and subject content for future generations (Klein, 2001).
Israeli curriculum designers developed a new English curriculum to set standards for English as a foreign language (EFL). This new curriculum is built on brain-based learning theories, and the needs of Israeli learners.
This curriculum uses different learning styles, it enhances student performance (Rabbe & Shuster-Bouskila, 2001) by supporting brained-based learning.
There is a Competition between countries to design a perfect curriculum which suits the students need and aligned with development of technology and modern world that is full of change.
Palestine is one of these countries and the Ministry of Education follow with interest these changes and development in curriculum around the world and benefits from them, and tries to develop the Palestenian curriculum all the time, in order to achieve this, however, the Ministry of Education needs to go through a constant cycle of planning, implementation and evaluation.
