It has not been an easy decision. There has been a lot of procrastinating that has been holding me back. I am glad to say that I am attending Ashford University. Now that I am here, I plan on giving it my all. I don’t plan on giving up even after the completion of my bachelor’s degree. After, my completion I plan on getting a job as a Disability Service worker. While I am working there, I plan on moving forward and work on my master’s degree. So this is my journey on returning back to school.
There are many reasons on why I planned on returning back to school. Out of the entire list of jobs that I have every applied for you need some type of degree. I live in Connecticut and the amount of jobs you can applied for are limited. Most of my experience is from working in a pharmacy and taking care of my grandmother as well as my great-grandmother. Pharmacies are becoming harder to work for because they are asking for so much. What I mean about to much is that some places want you to take the State test before they can hire you or if they hire you, you have to pay for the State test on your own. That is something that I cannot afford and I know others aren’t able to afford it either.
I have always wanted to work with the elderly. That is why I want to be a Disability Service worker. This type of job requires me to have a lot of background education. Having the education will give me a better understanding and knowledge in this specific career. I can learn new things and set a lot more goals. Learning more will give me a clearer understanding on the proper way to address certain situations. I will also learn how different cultures understand what it is that their relative is going through.
There have been a few obstacles that are in my way, but none that will stop me from completing my degree. I am a full-time working mother. It is not possible for me to just pick up and go to school and sit in a classroom. I just happen be too exhausted and in pain when I come...
