A Perfect Woman in Society
Society places women in a certain category. Some categories society place women in are stereotypical and unrealistic. Women are put in the most expected life style in this world. What is expected out of a woman in society is the way they should look, the way they should live their lives, and how educated a woman should be.
First women in society should look a certain way. Social media, books and movies always have this ideal look for a woman. Not just this ideal look but most of all this ideal character or model. In the reading The Ugly Truth About Beauty, Dave berry said “Women grow up thinking they need to look like Barbie”, than he added “ That there’s a multibillion-dollar beauty industry devoted to convincing women that they must try.” Society starts manipulating women as little girls. They have all these shows on television saying looking like Barbie means you are the most beautiful girl in the world. They have also made other female characters to have a certain sex appeal. When kids and women look at them they desire to be just like that. Society doesn’t think this messes with women’s self-esteem. Most women aren’t made to look like a model. Than they those women come to thinking that they won’t ever fit into this world or don’t belong.
Society expects women to not only look a certain way, but also how they should live their lives. Women in this society are not expected to make it out on their own without a man. In today’s society women are moving up and showing out. Women are put to a low standard. A standard that society said women are supposed to be at home cooking, cleaning and taking care of the kids while the husband is at work making all the money. Society also thinks that there should be a man head of the house hold. Better yet women just need to follow the man’s lead. On movies and television women are shown helpless. Let me just say it like this society sees a woman purpose is just to look pretty and smile....
