The first book that I read was Son of the Mob by Korman, Gordon. It was published by Hyperion Books for Children in the year 2004. I chose this book because it seemed like a good book to sit back on the beach and read. It also sounded like an easy read that would still be good. Next, him and his best friend since grade school, Alex, join their schools football team as the bench warmers. Vince than realizes why the opposing teams defense wouldn’t touch him. At the end of the quarter he quit the team. The next incident occurs when Vince and Alex go to a frat party where Vince hooks up with his schools newspaper reporter, Kendra Bightly. The next day he learns that Kendra’s father is the FBI agent who is investigating Vince’s father. The two start dating, avoiding one another’s parents. Further into the book, Kendra finds FBI pictures taken of Vince while he was making a trade with two shady characters which she thought had something to do with the mob. She leaves Vince, and he becomes desperate to get her back. Which he does. These are just a few of the reasons that Vince finds that the mob life isn’t for him.
Another main character was Anthony Luca. Father to Vince, Tommy, and Mira, wife of their mother, and...
