Statement of Purpose
“Nanotechnology is the base technology of an industrial revolution in the 21st century.
Those who control nanotechnology will lead the industry."
My interest in applied science dates back to my school days. Science has always been my
fascination right from childhood. During high school, I was fascinated with electronic gadgets.
Soon, designing and building the basic circuits started as a hobby for me. Studying about the
components and their composition made me realize that Engineering is the best option to
establish my bright future. So, with family members in the engineering profession who were my
role model, I burnt the midnight oil to prove my mettle with successful results and pursued my
Bachelors in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
I obtained first division with distinction in my entire school and engineering life. As I was
quickly absorbing and assimilating the information, I have a great knowledge in topics like
semiconductor device physics, physics and chemistry of solids, electronic devices and circuits,
VLSI design, Digital electronics.
Seeing the scaling of devices day by day and how change of materials changes the features of the
devices completely, I found my interest in electronic devices, the components and their material
composition develop at large. Being an enthusiastic reader, I constantly keep myself updated
with the latest technology and research topics that not only broadened my horizons but also
exposed me to the latest global strides in the area of “chip technology” and also “scaling of
devices” day by day. These changes in the technology kindled a spark to carry out an extensive
study on the topic-titled “Nanotechnology in Cancer Diagnosis and treatment”. I had attended
many seminars on nanotechnology and I found it as an emerging field. I also delivered a lecture
