Theft is defined as the act of stealing; the wrongful taking and carrying away the personal goods or property of another. For centuries theft of multiple forms has plagued cavitation, although efforts to stop it has increased in complexity, it seems people always find a way around it. Physical possessions are very important to people, and hold high value in society. People work hard every day of their lives to maintain a certain level of possessions, luxury and essential.

Greed, desperation, power, revenge, are just a few reasons for one person to take what is not theirs from another. None of these reasons are good quality’s to have in your life. For example a greedy man will steal from the innocent even though his pockets are already full, and the objects he is taken are not even necessary for his survival. But keep in mind desperate man trying to steal food, clothing, or basic things he needs to survive, does not justify his actions because theft hurts other people. A man seeking power may steal things such as land from natives, or money from the people who put him in charge of protecting and leading them. And a man stealing for revenge may just do all of the above. Theft destroyed your reputation, makes people not trust you and may even disown you. It makes it hard to get a job, and gives you a criminal record when you get caught. True trust is something hard in this life, and stealing just causes people to push you further and further away. Hand in hand with stealing is lying, because sooner or later someone is going to wonder if you were the one who took that object, and if you did then most likely you’re going to lie about it to avoid getting caught. Lying and stealing are two sure fire ways to make people never trust you again.
