The Rock Hole

Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, bee-“STEVE turn off that alarm!” “Yeah, alright mum, cool yourself down sometimes I just, u know get into the tune.” “No, Steve. I don’t know.” Why is my alarm going off at five thirty in the morning anyways? I thought to myself. “Get going to those bloody calves boy.” I’m going, im going.” Mum and I had never seen I to eye on a good sleep in, anyway. Man, it’s a cold morning. I actually broke into a jog at one point just to try and get warm. I’m beginning to hate these cows. Let me tell you these two can drink a whole lot of milk. My god they haven’t finished yet and it has to be at least six by now. Well seems I’m up might go over to my favourite place on earth my very own rock hole. Maybe I should explain where it is I live. It’s a little place called Lynda’s hill, there’s two shops a milk bar and a general store which even has a petrol pump. It’s a beautiful place and I can’t see myself anywhere else but living in its red dusty plains. So ‘the rock hole’ it’s about a three hour motorbike ride from my joint towards the big hills and as far as I no I’m the only one that knows about it.
Okay, the motorbike ride is not too difficult but getting down to the rock hole is a whole different story. Firstly it’s surrounded by prickles so it doesn’t look like a rocky hill at all its more like a tower of prickles and a couple of rocks that you can barely see. When you make it through the prickles boy howdy it’s a nice site. Underwater springs rise to the surface at the bottom of a circular dome of a rocky dome formed a billion years ago by a dinosaur’s foot, well maybe. Most of my best memories have been here in the rock hole. My favourite day ever was with my best mate (who was too lazy to come today) Densel. We were just kicking back having a swim one summers day when we noticed the sky getting really dark and...
