I have had experience in the past buying a computer. There are different things that can affect the supply and demand of a computer such as; competition, “and increasing efficiency on the supply side that have reduced the price of laptops (VCR’s DVD players and so on) and thus made laptop purchases attractive to more and more students, not the reverse” Archive.misses.org(Dale Stein rich 2005). Majority college students are trying to survive while attending college and may not want to spend lots of money on a computer. So by the prices being decreased this can help the college students as well as the consumers in the long run. This change can come about, because of upgrades being needed, or people just wanting to possess the next best thing. For example; a laptop will be available to consumers that can do special things that can attract buyers initially. Then 1-2 years later a laptop of the same brand, but better features present itself. This then makes consumers want to experience that upgrade factor. By them wanting to upgrade it means more sales, and possible changes in supply and demand. The unit price can most certainly be a factor that will affect the supply and demand of a computer. A consumer will always be in search of the overall best deal, so the lower the price the more traffic you will attract in regards to the item. Now this is only if the competition isn’t offering a deal that is too good to be true. Meaning that you want to make sure you can compete with them or somehow find a way to beat their price. The efficiency of production is another factor that needs to be considered also. If a computer company can correctly and quickly process computers this is the faster they will be available to be stocked on a consumers shelve.
