List the different types of computers and give a brief description. Please list examples of each. A computer is a device, usually electrically-powered, that accepts data input, performs calculations, and carries out other operations based on instructions from a human operator.
There are many different types of computers.
Desktops
Desktop computer is just another version of Personal Computer intended for regular use from a single use and where designed to fit comfortably on top of a desk, typically with the monitor sitting on top of the computer. Desktop model computers are broad and low, whereas tower model computers are narrow and tall. Because of their shape, desktop model computers are generally limited to three internal mass storage devices. Desktop models designed to be very small are sometimes referred to as ‘slimline’ models. The expectation with desktop systems is that you will set the computer up in a permanent location. Most desktops offer more power, storage and versatility for less cost than their portable brethren. A computer that can be fit on a desk can also be called as desktop. Desktop computers come in different form vertical tower cases to small form factor.
Notebook/Laptop computer
Laptop’s are generally small mobile computers run on a single main battery or from an external power supply that will served as to run the laptop as well as charge the battery. Laptop contains all the components of computer but all these are optimized for mobile users. Notebook computers typically weigh less than 6 pounds and are small enough to fit easily in a briefcase. Aside from size, the principal difference between a notebook computer and a personal computer is the display screen. Notebook computers use a variety of techniques, known as flat-panel technologies, to produce a lightweight and non-bulky display screen. The quality of notebook display screens varies considerably.
