The Notebook is another love story, but the dual plot, and the fact that the main actors started their three year romance while making this movie makes it different and one of the best love stories ever told. The movie is based on the best-seller The Notebook by Nicolas Sparks which was the only third novel in recent history to spend over a year as a hardcover best-seller.
The Notebook is initially set in World War II era in a little town called Seabrook located in North Carolina. The story is revealed by Noah, who is played by James Garner and is around eighty years old. Although the doctors tell him that there is no possible way Allie will recognize him. The movie is told thru his eyes and while he is reading to Allie in the nursing home. The story starts with Noah played by Ryan Gosling and Allie played by Rachel McAdams meeting at a carnival. The first time Noah sets his eyes on Allie, it is love at first sight. Allie doesn’t want anything to do with him until he attempts to jump off a ferris wheel. Allie agrees to go out with him and from then on the two are together every moment through out the whole summer. Noah and Allie have two very different backgrounds. Allie comes from a very wealthy family and Noah comes from a lower class. This doesn’t seem to matter between them. Allie’s parents realize that Allie and Noah are in love and decide to have Noah over for a family dinner. Once Allie’s parents find out that...
