Though hundreds of students used to call me “teacher”, I never really understood the real meaning of it. Teaching for me was just like doing any other job but what I didn’t realize was that it meant much more than I had imagined. It was Teddy who changed this for me. Teddy Stallard was not like the other boys when he came to my class. He looked very untidy and did not hang around with the other kids. His appearance as a whole was unpleasing. He wasn’t even good in his studies and I did not even pay much attention him. One day while I was going through the students report .Teddy’s reports shocked me. I felt extremely miserable and ashamed of myself when I realized that the death of his mother was the reason for his behavior. From then on my life as a teacher took on a different route. Understanding my duty as a teacher I worked hard to make sure Teddy became the same boy he used to be; smart, cheerful and fun to be around. And yes I did succeed in making a difference in his life; Teddy finished high school third in his class, graduated from college with highest of honors, became Dr. Stallard from Teddy and today is happily married. He was and will always be a true gentleman. He never forgot to mention in any of his letters that I was the best teacher he ever had but for me Teddy is my true teacher because he taught me the most important lesson of my life.
